Just in front of Hotel Maya Luna stretches the “Meso American Barrier Reef” . This Reef is also known as the “Great Mayan Reef” or “Jewel of the Caribbean”. It is a beautiful reef inhabited by a great variety of coral, sponges and hundreds of different kinds of tropical fish. A true divers paradise. In front of our hotel and along the whole coast there are many beautiful diving places, from 3 to 60 meters deep. And of course further off-shore there is Chinchorro Bank.

Never been diving but want to try it? Then a discover dive is the perfect thing to do. With some theory and one very shallow dive you decide afterwards if diving is your thing or not. Ask us for special dive arrangements!
Some of the dive shops in town organize trips to Chinchorro Bank. Keep in mind that you will always need good weather and a minimum of 6 people to go there.
